Last night we came home after voting and checked the election results using the A.I. called Brave Leo<\/em>. It showed me as having defeated Jay Robinson for Place 4. Then I checked the City website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*oh, nevermind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don’t ever trust A.I<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s just as well since I had already congratulated Mr. Robinson earlier in the evening. He won the election by a large margin, against two challengers, and the voters of Fairhope have made it very clear that they like the way that things are going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I sincerely wish Jay all the best, and hope that the next four years are a success, both for him personally, and for our town generally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have renamed this blog to reflect my share of the vote, and will leave it up for a few more weeks at least, since I believe that it contains some ideas worth sharing, and says some things that need to be said. I especially want to keep alive the words of Emily<\/a> and Susie<\/a>, who helped so much with this effort over the last two months. I am forever grateful to them both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voter turnout was 25% on Tuesday, higher than expected, but it remains a fact that 3\/4 of our neighbors choose to stay at home every 4 years. For an explanation as to why, I’ll turn to The Rolling Stones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
